McCabe Family in Desertserges Parish (1840s-1890s)

I am interested in sharing information on Isaac McCabe (1808-1892) and Catherine Jones (1814-1879) and their 10 children.

Isaac McCabe is listed in the 1851 Griffith's Valuation List as the occupant of a schoolhouse on land owned by the Earl of Bandon in Castlederry townland, Desertserges Parish.

Isaac and Catherine operated a biblical school at Castle Derry during the famine years in the 1840s and 1850s.

Isaac and his family lived on farmland in Curravarahane (two miles south of Bandon) in 1865. During the period 1867-1874, the family lived in Desertserges (about five miles west of Bandon). Isaac's address in both 1879 and in 1892 was Castle Road, Bandon.
