Mary Murphy (abt. 1828 to 1895)
Mary Murphy, b. about 1828-1830 likely in Killursa area, was my gt. grandmother. I am searching for thenames of her parents and siblings. I have over 200 DNA matches with descendants of ancestors from Co. Galway--most from area of Headford.. The most numerous matches are with Murphys and McHughs along with a smaller number of matches with Hannons, Currans, followed by Walsh and Martin descendants. My strongest match is with Tom Murphy followed by his son, Tim. My Mary Murphy emigrated to the U.S. about 1850 settling in Nashville, Tenn. She was married to Adam Hoffmann and had 4 children while in Nashville: Dora Maria (1860-1939);my grandmother,Margaret (1863-1904);Catharine (1866-1923); and William (1870-1943). Mary moved to St. Louis, Mo. with her family around 1872 and lived there until her death 21 Nov 1895. I believe Mary's father may have been a Murphy and her mother a McHugh. I am hoping someone who reads this mayoffer additional information to help me learn more about my great grandmother Mary Murphy. Margaret Faux
