I am looking for Mary May Gallagher's parents. I believe her dad's name was James Gallagher and her mother's last name was Autrey. Mary was born in Alabama of 1883. She married Pleasant L Chitwood and had at least 3 child. She died on April 4 1930 in Weaver, Calhoun, Alabama.

Have you looked at Ancestry.com or familysearch.org I would find the family in the 1900 US census and that should let you know the mother's first name and when she married James Gallagher. Likely the marriage occurred in Alabama. Maybe you can locate the record. Unless the marriage showed the names of the parents of James Gallagher or possibly his death record/obit, it will be difficult to determine where he came from in Ireland.

In the 1920 census she was married to Pleasant and the census shows both her parents born in Alabama.
