Mary Lewis Kilbehenny

Hi All,

I am currently doing a family tree.  I am looking for information on Mary Lewis who married Jeremiah  Hogan in 1843.   Mary was from  Kilbehenny and  Jeremiah was from  Inchacomb.

Mary Lewis was born in 1827 in KilbehenyShe married Jeremiah Hogan on 12 February 1843. They had six children in 15 years. She died on 14 December 1882 in Anglesborough, Limerick, at the age of 55.

Rosaleen,

Record from RootsIreland (paid subscription). I did not find an 1827 baptism. This might be her. I did not find other siblings nor marriage record for parents.

Note: Baptisms weren't recorded till 1824 and marriages 1825.

Rosaleen,

I don't think the 1830 baptism record for the above Mary Lewis is your Mary as she would have been 13 years old at the time of her marriage in 1843. She was most likely born prior to 1824.

Regards,

Carolyn

Ya your possibly right.  However they definitely got msrried on the in feb1843.  The above date is date baptism. Is it possible thst she was born a couple od years before this as i had year of birth as 1827 which make her 16 in 1843.   On marriage record Richard Lewis is down as a witness

She may have been born earlier since they weren't recording baptisms until 1825. In Ireland they typically did not celebrate birthdates so frequently the birth year is off. Sometimes by 10 years. The actual baptism/ birth record is accurate. I agree with Carolyn that Mary probably wouldn't be marrying at age 13.
