I am hoping to find decendants/relatives of Mary (born Melady in 1829) and William Hynes who lived in Moate, Westmeath, Ireland and Athlone, Westmeath, Ireland. They had a son, William Hynes who was born April 7, 1866 in Moate, Westmeath, Ireland. Thank you for any information you can provide.
Hi Peggy I am looking over old queries and the name mentioned may be more often transcribed as Melody, it is found mainly in Galway and Westmeath, got interested in it when it occurred in my own DNA matches. No idea how but i have ancestors in the general area of Galway and Westmeath.
You could post details on this site on the parish page and it may be seen by someone perusing the parish.
There are a number of private Facebook groups dealing with genealogy by county and sometimes by area so you could seek out a Westmeath page and join, I am assuming we have no local Moate volunteer.
Regards
Pat
