Margaret Bradne - Kennaway Girls

I am looking for the ggg grandmother of my granddaughter Margaret Bradner that came to South Africa on the ship the Lady Kennaway  in 1857 with a bunch of other girls.  http://www.ancestors.co.za/database/trees/getperson.php?personID=I833&t…;

Margaret was born we think in Dublin around 1839 and we think her parents were Joseph Bradner and Mary McQuirke.

We have a DNA match for her to a Joseph Bradner born 1845 who is either a brother or half brother. It appears that Joseph senior also married an Elizabeth Tatterson

I hope someone can help me please

kind thanks

Fanny

Hi,

www.rootsireland.ie - subscription site - has a record of the marriage of Joseph Bradner, Farmer, Glencree, Co. Wicklow to Elizabeth Tatterson at Blessington Church of Ireland on 30th May, 1842.

It has an entry for Margaret - 5th September 1844, daughter of Joseph Bradner and Elizabeth, parish of Powerscourt. A "Hannah Maria" is entered with the same date of birth and same parents. There is a John with the same parents, but the address is given as "Boleith".

There are number of familes with the surname Bradner/Bradnor, both Church of Ireland and Roman Catholic, recorded in the Glencree area of County Wicklow.

Regards.

Hello Fanny,

Joseph Bradner B1807 had a relationship with Mary McGuirke about 1829. The had a daughter Margaret. Margaret was baptized Mar 4 1929 and the priest noted that the birth was illegitimate. If you email me at bradner@email.com I can send you copy of the register page.
