Attached is a copy of the 1911 Irish census for Tallow - Co. Waterford.

Head of House - John Lyons, Blacksmith in Tallowbridge Street, Tallow.

A son Denis recorded as 16 years. He probably continued his father's trade.

looks likw John was my great grandfather and Denis my grand father

interesting that their house was owned by the duke of devonshire

as he lives 4 miles up the road from where i live now !

The Duke would have owned the Ground for which a householder would have to pay an annual rent.

An Act was passed in the Irish Parliament some years ago, which gave the tenant a Right to buy the Ground,

provided the owner was in agreement.

Attached some detail on the origin of the Title.

Lyons

Hi, my aunt was Esther Lyons born in Tallow to Denis Lyons and Mary in Tallow. My mother was Elizabeth (Lily). Her brother Denis did run The Bride View in Tallow for a time. There were also sisters called Rachel, Maureen, Margaret (Madge) and a brother Joe. Both Denis and Joe are still alive. Joe lives in the UK and Denis in Ireland.  The house they were born in no longer exists and was replaced by a modern dwelling I  the 1970s. I hope this is of help.
