Hello Marj, I am looking at old queries and see yours above. There are a large number of Lucas names in the Cork Church records, most if not all are RC, I searched 1790 to 1850, there is a Mary Lucas baptised in Cork City in 1802 I think, you can look at the records here https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ Click on Church and location Cork, the records for Mayo are not on this site as yet and will probably be sometime. Civil records on the site commence in 1864 for all, 1845 for Prostestant marriages. https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/
I found the marriage, Samuel's name is not legible but a note says it is either Samuel or Daniel, he was in the 65th Regiment and the marriage took place in Mayo as below
| 29-Jan-1845 |

You can have a go on reading the register here, however it is only searchable by event and date and read and can be difficult.
https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1043 Marriages start in 1821 however baptisms only commence in 1845 so if Mary is born there you will not find a baptism.
There are no Lucas nmaes in the Tithe Applottments 1824 to 1838, only holders of land over 1 acre.
You may find more military records on Ancestry or Forces War Records as most of that was moved to London after independence.
Hope that assists
Pat
PS There was a copper mine in Allihies in Cork and a lot of the miners came from Cornwall. https://acmm.ie/
