Looking for my great great great grandfather Francis Ward

GalwaySt Nicholas (Galway)

We are looking for my g g great grandfather Francis Ward born approx 1846 in Ireland he came to USA but we don't know when. He had a child with Nancy Jenny Allen in Chicago,Illinois born 1873 his name was James Albert Ward. It was told to me when I was a kid that Francis and Nancy had another son who went back to Ireland with Francis and James stayed with his mom. This is all the info I have and I'm at a stopping point on the Ward side of the family. If I could just find some sort of relative or information that would be great. I don't know Francis parents.

Hello Susan,  My name is Peter Callaghan and I have Family that came from Ireland. There is a Free Site called Irish Genealogy that has Information on Births,Deaths,Marriages, etc. If you have the Parish or County that Francis was Born in It would go a long way to being able to find Him. You also may get results from passenger Lists of People that arrived in America around that time.(1846 till 1873?  Did he come to America by Himself or was He Married? If you can get any information on your G,G,G,Grandfather such as I have mentioned let me know and I'll see if I can Help.

All the Best

Peter thank you for the information unfortunately that is all I have, I know it's like searching for a needle in a haystack. I don't know when he came over I just know he was in Chicago,Illinois  in 1873 when him and his wife we are assuming had a boy or two there. She was born in Tennessee so he had to meet her here but not much on her family either. Most of the family is all gone on both sides that would know anything which is a shame I was just hoping to find some sort of relative who knew him etc in Ireland. I will check out the site you gave me if you find out anything you can always let me know.  I appreciate any of your help.
