Hello Terry, I am looking at old queries and the spellings appear to be incorrect to me, I searched for a Ryan / Claffey marriage and see in 1833 a marriage in Lemonaghan, Westmeath. date 9th February, no parents names recorded, it is an RC marriage, witnesses are Peter Horan & Mary Hicky or Hickey,
his name is the Irish one of Kieran, sometimes Ciaran, Gaelic spelling, so it was written as heard, you can see this marriage here if you search by event, month and year, see https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0144 the parish is in both Westmeath and mainly in Offaly or Kings County back then.
There is another marriage in 1848 in Banagher, but christian names are Patrick and Eleanor so cannot be correct.
Marriages normally took place in the brides parish, Claffey is a name mainly in Westmeath and Ryan is mainly in Tipperary but adjoins Offally but the other end of the county, Ryan is a difficult name to research generally as it is very common in that area.
Regards
Pat
