Looking for Information on my 2nd Great Grandfather and 2nd Great Grandmother who lived at Gorthahumma

Hi, 

I am looking for any information about my 2nd Great Grandfather Edward/Edmond/Edmund Kennedy and Bridget Crowe. They had 9 children; Mary (married James Spillane) Johanna, Honora,  Denis, Michael (my great grandfather), Margaret (married Richard Burke), Bridget (married Patrick Murphy), Edward, Sarah. Johanna, Honora, Denis and Michael all went to the U.S. I can find record of Bridget (mother) living at Gortahumma as late as the 1911 census, but no death records. In the 1901 census she is listed at living at Gorthahumma and she is a widow. I haven't been able to locate any information on Edward's death however. I have found numerous newspaper articles about the disputes between Edward and Denis Crowe (who I believe is the uncle to Bridget), as well as some petty sessions court records about disputes between Edward and his son-in-law James Spillane.

Any information would be appreciated as would suggestions for where to search.

Hello, I have a one name study for Crowe in Ireland and the connections to the rest of the world where I can find them :) You have valuable info regarding this emigration that would be useful t me and others tracing Tipperary families. However it would be good to have year - dates with your names to avoid confusion of repeating names in families? :) I have more information I can offer but I would need to send you a tree/chart or charts to get all the people over to you. I am also interested in Denis Crowes as they seem to come from this area of Tipperary only and can produce some charts for you to look at too - look under the website Tipperary Trees menu? Choose Kilcommon? Also this area is close to Templederry and my own family come from Kilcommon and Clonoulty Parishes so there is a strong possibilty of direct connection. Thank you both for your replies. I have attached a document where I have transcribed most of the articles that I found. It includes dates. Petty sessions cases for Edward seem to stop after May 1883. Bridget Kennedy was listed as a widow in the 1901 census and was still living at Gortahumma in the 1911 census. I found a baptismal record for a Bridget Crowe whose father was Martin Crowe and mother was Catherine Dwyer. Date Jan 1833 with a possible DNA connection to the son John Crowe by the same parents. Edward and Bridget's children Mary b. 1855, Honora b. 1856 (?), Johanna b. 1859, Denis b. 1860, Bridget b. 1862, Margaret b. 1866, Michael (my great grandfather) b.1867, Edward b. 1869, Sarah b.1871. Johanna, Honora, Denis, and Michael all immigrated to the United States and eventually ended up in Chicago, except Nora who lived in Clinton Iowa.
