Hi,
I am just looking for some information on my 3x great grandmother, Mary Gallagher. She was born around 1846. She married Anthony Barrett and had a few children, one being my great-great grandfather John Barrett. They lived in Mayo.
I am looking for Mary Gallagher's birth record which will hopefully lead me to the name of her parents.
Thank you!
Luke:
There are many Mary Gallagher baptismal records in the 1840s in Mayo on the subscription site Roots Ireland. The only record in Ballysakeery was a Mary Gallagher baptized December 17 1844. Her parents were Michael Gallagher and Ann Gallagher. Baptismal records for that parish start in November 1843.
In the parish of Backs/Knockmore there was a June 23 1840 Mary Gallagher baptismal record with parents John Gallagher and Margaret Madden.

Thank you for that information!
Which one is likely correct?
Luke:
Where was she married? Likely that is the parish for the baptism.
Roger
