Looking for information on the Tuckers of Limerick.

On the 1911 census my great grandfather Michael Tucker lived in Rich Hill with his wife and children. H was a post man. They lived with Michael’s parents, his father was also called Michael. Around 1920 they moved to England and by 1938 they were in Glasgow where my father was born. My parents separated when I was 2, my dad died a few years ago and I have never met anyone from my dad’s family. Any

 about them would be great

Michael Tucker

I think I identified Edmond's correct death record above. The age and profession aren't consistent.

Beyond the death record all the records I have found for Edmond identifies him as a laborer. There might have been two Edmond Tucker living in Murroe. Ellen's death record is probably incorrect since it identifies her as a postman widow. Below is Michael's brother John death record. Father was Edmond a laborer. Death in Murroe.

Not have been unusual

In 1900, it would not have been unusual for an individual to become a postman at the age of 61. The Irish Post Office, An Post, played a central role in Irish life and society, offering a wide range of services from the provision of pensions to parcel collection. The postal service had adapted to changing technology, transport, and trends, and continued to meet the challenges of the 21st century. The Post Office had a significant impact on the development of Irish society, influencing areas such as transport, communications, economics, technology, and national identity.

MURAL - Maynooth University Research Archive Library+2

If Edmond became a postman, then he is the father of James Tucker, laborer, who married Margaret Dundon in 1910 in Murroe
