Looking for information on Johanna & Mary Connors, half-sisters of Patrick O'Connor (d. 1848 in Bulloch Co, Georgia, USA)
Hello, I am looking for information on the family of Patrick O'Connor, who died in Bulloch County, Georgia, USA, about 1848. In his will he directed his estate to his half-sisters in Ireland: Johanna Connor of Tarbut Parish, County Kerry, and Mary Connor, a widow in Newtown Parish. The will also stated that Johanna Connor had been partly raised by Michael Fennel in Shannaway Parish after the death of her mother. The family was Catholic.
I checked the Griffith's Valuation, and found two entries for Michael Fennel in Shanaway West, Kilnaughtin, Iraghticonnor, Kerry.
I believe that Patrick O'Connor was the brother of Daniel O'Connor (abt. 1809 Ireland - 1849 Bulloch, GA) and Catherine O'Connor Kennelly (d. 1858 Iowa, USA). In the 1840 US Census, there was another adult male living in Daniel O'Connor's household. Patrick O'Connor did not own any land at the time of his death and he held notes on both Daniel O'Connor (about $70) and Timothy Kennelly (abt. $300). I'm hoping to find proof of this, and any other siblings that may have remained in Ireland.
Daniel O'Connor and Mary Frauly were married in Bulloch County, GA on 20 December 1835. Their known children were: Johanna, Margaret, Catherine, Mary, Patrick and Daniel. Catherine O'Connor and Timothy Kennelly had the following known children: Johanna, Mary, Patrick, Ellen, Jeremiah & Catherine.
Thank you,
Beth
