Lynda, I looked at the civil marriage records at irishgenealogy.ie, with no findings. It is quite possible that the marriage was not civilly registered.

Lynda,

Their church marriage record shows up on the paid site Roots Ireland, but there is no more information about Bridget as her residence and her father's name are not given. The only additional information from what you already have above are the witnesses names - Andrew Ridge & Mary Flaherty.

Carolyn

Thankyou for looking she is difficult to find

I know when they married she was still alive in 1895 as she picked her son up when he was released from latter frack. The next information i have on the family is on the 1901 Irish census when her children are living with their step father Martin/Mortin Cannon she is not on the census . I have no death record for her either she has just vanished

Hi Lynda,

I found the birth records for their four children,Edward (1883), James (1888), David Robert (1890), and Mary Anne (1892). The family was living in Derrynea, Killlannin (civil parish), Lettermullin (aka Carraroe) RC parish. Their surname was transcribed as "Coneys" on Roots Ireland.

Please clarify a few things...what do you mean by "she picked up her son up when he was released from latter frack", and did she remarry someone named Martin/Mortin Cannon? As you mention he is in the 1901 census with her children. Do you know when she remarrried, if she did?

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn

Edward and his brother Samuel where arrested for begging and sent to the brothers of Latterfrack his documentation from there shows he was returned to the care of Bridget when he left

I have not been able to find Bridget after that date only her children living with Martin/Morton i thought she had remarried as David had died in 1894

Lynda,

Yes, I did find David's death record in 1894..sad way to go. The 1901 census of Martin with the four children shows that he was a widower and his profession was given as hawker; however, I found no marriage record for he and Bridget, nor any death record for her. The four children are as listed above in the birth records I found...Edward, James, David, and Mary Anne...no Samuel. It is possible that Bridget and Martin never married, but rather lived together as a family. My best guess since Martin is listed as a widow is that Bridget died sometime between 1895 and 1901 but her death was not registered.

Regards,

Carolyn

Thankyou for looking Carolyn

Samuel was not living with Martin, after he left Latterfrack he went on to be an apprentice to a Taylor

I hope in the future to be able to find what happened to Bridget fingers x
