Dear Garry:
Many thanks for your query to Ireland Reaching Out. That is wonderful that you are having a family reunion and it would be great if you could share the details on the parish page for Derry--which I believe is Faughanvale.
You should share this on our message board. In addition, do you have any others who are involved in the planning for this? If so, you should ask them to join the Faughanvale Civil Parish for Ireland Reaching Out.
If you have any other information that you would like to share, please let me know.
In addition, another way to promote this event is to add it to the Ireland XO Chronicles.
Please get back to me if you have any further questions,
All the best,
Jane.
Dear Garry,
Your message was mentioned to me by others in IrelandXO who are helping me reserach my Irish ancestry. I am looking at families known by the names of Drinan, Foley, King and Burke. We have been quite successful tracing the Drtinans and the Foleys back to Tracton, near Cork. We know less about the Kings and the Burkes. These families emigrated to America and most of my ancestors were born there.
My great great grandfather Patrick King was born around 1813-1815. He married my great great grandmother Hannah (Jannna, Honora or Nora) Burke who was born during 1827-1832. Her parents were Patrick and Nora Burke. Patrick and Hanna were married on 21 October 1850 in Galway. Their son Michael Francis King (great grandfather) was born in Massachusetts.
If any of this resonates with distant relatives who attend your reunion in October I would value being able to share genealogy with the. My email address is:
Best wishes.
Hi Garry this is an old post and just found it by accident searching for my Burke family side. I do have connections to king and Burke in this Eglinton area.
Thank you
Fearghal.
