Looking for birthplace of James and Isabella Malone

I have found my great great grandparents and know they came to the USA on the ship Adirondack in 1847. I know they left Dublin, then Liverpool, the the US. I am trying to locate where in Ireland they lived before they left.

Afternoon

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Unfortunately, it can be very difficult to poin-point records of an ancestor when you are not sure where in Ireland they came from. The start dates for parish records vary, depending on the parish. Some parish records start earlier than others and so you can be lucky and find records of your ancestors from the ealty 1800s. In other cases however, parish records do not start until the 1860s or later and so this is late, relatively speaking.

You could search the sites sugggested below for records of the Malone family.

www.familysearch.org

www.irishgenealogy.ie

www.rootsireland.ie (a subscription site)

You could also try searching the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-1837) and/or the Griffith's Valuation (1847-1864):

http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/index.jsp
http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml

Even though these only list the head of household, the information can be very useful. The best thing you can do at this stage, without a parish ot townland name to focus on, is to collect as much information as possible.

Let us know if you find any further information.

Best of luck with your search
