Hi, there are two possible matches  for  the baptism of William Quinn one in 1795 and one in 1796 County Waterford.  The 1797 baptism took place in the cathedral of Waterford town , the 1796 baptism took place at St Johns Church also Waterford town.  The records can be found on www.rootsireland.ie a pay-to-view site with church record transcriptions. Was not able to find the marriage there

Thank you for the prompt reply..

William Quinn's birthdate may be 1798-99, not 1796.  His age is listed as 45 years on the 1841 Liverpool Census.  Elizabeth Donahue is listed as born England, not Ireland.  Age on 1841 census is listed as 35 years.  I believe they were married in England, not Ireland but I have located no RC records in England confirming this.  On Ancestry.com there is one RC Liverpool baptismal certificate for one their son James.  Elizabeth's name on that document is spelled "Donaghue".  I do not know William Quinn's year of emigration.  I believe four (of five) sons left for America following their parents' death in a Liverpool workhouse:  Elizabeth in 1845 and William in 1847.

For birth years 1798/1799 there are 7 matching records , in Cork, Wicklow, Longford , Dublin, Westmeath, Waterford  and county Meath. Maybe if you could find Williams death record that it will reveal more information about him, or the marriage cert might have the name of his parents on it

For William Quinn, no death is recorded in Liverpool/Lancashire but the 1845 Liverpool workhouse register lists his birthplace as Ireland and his age at death as 47.  He is supposedly buried in St Mary's RC Cemetery, Liverpool.  There is an Elizabeth Donahue baptised in Westmeath 1806.  This is possibly William's wife,  although parents' names are unknown for both William and Elizabeth.  Sons' names were Henry, Peter, James, Thomas, William.  With traditional naming patterns, would William's father's name have been Henry, or would that have been his grandfather?  Thank you.
