Killury?

Hi,

My name's Shara, and I live in Australia and I'm currently trying to do my family tree. I'm looking for my mum's sides ancestry her last name is Killury. My 3rd Great grandfather was born Michael P. Killury in 1829 in County Clare, his father was called Patrick.

I'm not sure if that's the original spelling or not. Any information on Killury's or any variation of that name would be great. Although I recently found a place in Kerry called Killury and was wondering if maybe they originated from there.

Thank you

Hello Shara, looking at old queries and do not see the name in the free online census but it is in Griffiths Valuation, 7 times in Roscommon so not too close to Clare. https://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=name…

There is an unusual name in Clare that turns up in my DNA and it is Kiniery.

Civil records post 1864 are here for free and you can have a search. https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/

Good Luck
