Kilkenny Brick Wall: Mary Ann Taylor

Kilkenny

Hello,

I'm hoping somebody can help me trace the ancestry of my 3rd-Great-Grandmother, Mary Ann Taylor. She was born in Kilkenny in 1847. This is the only information I have discovered about her from census records, ect.

In 1865 Mary Ann seems to magically appear in Plymouth, Devon, England; where she married my 3rd-Great-Grandfather, James Blatchford.

By 1878 the family movedto London (Mile End Old Town to be precise) and then in 1911 the family are living in Bermondsey, London.

I really want to discover further information about Mary Ann's early life. I have no information about her parents at all or how/why she moved to Devon.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide,

Tasha

Hello again!

You did not mention Mary Ann's religious denomination or her parents names. Roots Ireland had an 1847 Church of Ireland record in Castlecomer. See below. There were other records in 1843 and 1844.

Thanks, Roger.

I don't actually know the names of Mary Ann Taylor's parents. She's quite a frustrating mystery in my family tree.

I did a little extra digging today and found her exact date of birth. She was sadly admitted to the workhouse in London (England) before she died. I now know her full date of birth was the 13th February 1847. Does this help?

Tasha:

I looked at the 1843 and 1844 records and the baptismal dates were not in February.
