Julia Gleeson

Hi Everyone,

Still wacking away trying to find out details of my GGGG Grandparents Patrick Gleeson and Margaret Gleeson (Kearney)

I have come across the marriage of a Patrick and Margaret Gleeson recorded under the Parish/District of Kilcolman and County of Offaly on June 28 1840

I found an entry on the microfilm parish register for the Diocese of Killaloe / Parish Kilcolman. Microfilm entry is attached.

NOW how can I find out the details of those two people who I suspect could be my GGGG Grandparents.

Their eldest child Thos was born in 1839 going on emigration records. He was 22 when they left for Australia in 1861 which leads me to believe he was born out of wedlock. The second eldest was born in 1840 also going on the emigration records off the vessel Donald McKay out of the Mersey in 1861. So was he also born out of wedlock and then Patrick and Margaret decided to get married in 1840 and Margaret took his surname on the marriage certificate.

Hope someone has any details of Patrick and Margaret.

Regards

Ken
