Judith Ann Doyle and her husband James Lamb from Morte Bower, County Wexford, Carnew Parish

Hello, I am looking for informationabout my 3X great grandparentsJUDITH ANN DOYLEborn approx. 1794 andJAMES LAMBborn approx. 1780 in County Wexford, Ireland. They immigrated to Canada where they are buried in Old St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. The headstone for Judith says she was a native ofMORTE BOWER, County Wexford. Ihave not been able tofind Morte Bower, but from information given to me it is possibly alarge rock on a farm, and the farm had been owned at one time by my LAMB family.Any information about the DOYLE or LAMB families from Morte Bower, County Wexford will certainly be appreciated.

Dear Joe

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out.

It is likely that the National Library Fitzwilliam estate papers will be of use to you but they are not available online:

Motabower is a townland in Carnew parish where Lawrence Lamb leased land from the Earl Fitzwilliam in 1853:

A Patrick Doyle is also mentioned here:

RC parish records begin in 1785 but there are many gaps, particularly in the early sets of baptism between  1786-1791; 1797-1807 and Judith may in fact have been baptised during that period. I couldn't locate a baptism record for her or James.

Hi,

For many years I have been researching the history of the Coollattin (Fitzwilliam) estate, including the the townland of Motabower. I am confident that I can assist you with the story of both the Doyle and Lamb families including maps of the farms and houses occupied.

Hello Keven, last year you replied to a message I posted regarding Judith Doyle and James Lamb of Carnew Parish and Motabower.  You indicated that you may be able to help with information on the family and farming. I just recently saw your post, and hope you are still able to assist me.  Please reply. It will be appreciated.
