Jordan Family of Coolskeagh

My g-g-grandparents, John Jordan and Ann (Nancy) Moan were married in Castleblayney (Muckno) on 15 Feb 1844 with Phillip Moan as a witness. The Griffith's Valuation has John living in Coolskeagh in 1861. (The Tithe Applotment Book has a Patrick Jordan living in Coolskeagh in 1823 - (father, grandfather, or uncle to John?) I know that this part of the Jordan family was R.C. According to the 1851 Ireland Census Extract, their eldest daughter, Elizabeth gave the dates and names of the eight children of John and Ann. I've checked the Muckno records for their baptisms and came up empty handed. I then went on to try to search surrounding parishes and was able to find loose transcripts of the baptisms of three of the children, Patrick (my g-grandfather,1853) Francis (1848) and Mary (1856) on www.rootsireland.ie. Now, that I've probably made this a clear as dirt, my question is: Are there actual viewable baptismal records of the Parish of Donaghmoyne earlier then the 1863 records that are shown on the National Library of Ireland site? Thanks for any help with this question! Nancy

Hello, I am looking at older queries and on this site records only show from 1863 see https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0304 and civil records cover from 1864 also free inline now. Roots Ireland sometimes has older records and there is talk of them revisiting the parishes to look for records missed in the first look but I would not hold my breath. I see Roots Ireland have parish records from 1841 for that parish.

You could also try posting on this sites Parish page.

There is probably a Monaghan Genealogy private Facebook page if you wanted to check it out.

Good Luck
