Jonesborough County Armagh Church of Ireland baptism registers 1833-1840

I am writing from Australia and trying to locate the baptism registers for the Jonesborough County Armagh Church of Ireland. The PRONI guide to church records states that the baptism registers for Jonesborough Church of Ireland are in local custody.

I checked with the reverend Shirley Murphy at the Dundalk group of parishes and she advised that the registers were not held by the parish. She suggested I contact the archivist at the Church of Ireland RCB library in Dublin. The Archivist advised me that the library does not have a copy of the Jonesborough Church of Ireland baptism registers. She suggested that I contact PRONI.

Can anyone please advise me who I should contact to arrange for a search of the baptism registers for Jonesborough Church of Ireland?

I have a guide to Church of Ireland records issued by National Archives in Dublin. It repeats PRONI’s information ie that the only copy is still held by the parish. But if the parish says they haven’t got them, I fear that they may have been lost.

My guide gives different start years to PRONI. (Mine says baptisms start 1802, marriages 1821 and burials 1826). Presumably someone somewhere must have found the records at some point in the past to get that information. But that is all I can say.

There doesn’t appear to be anywhere else to look. You have tried all the normal places which might hold a copy. (National Archives has copies of some Church of Ireland parish records but not in this case, according to the guide).
