Thank you for your quick reply.
These Talbots are definitiely NOT Catholic. Church of England is the most consistent stated religion.
My birthdates come from Canada Censuses, some marriage and some death records. And they are not always consistent - in fact, they are all over the place! To confuse the issue, the Talbot brothers named their sons after their brothers so there are many John, Edward, Robert, Thomas - or combinations of these - Talbots. [I "assign" a birth year as a "middle name" to keep them all straight. It took years!]
Ireland is place of birth for all but youngest William H Talbot - and that is consistent. One death record said that birthplace of John 1792 was Dublin Ireland.
Talbot sometimes spelled "Talbert".
On 1871 Canada Census, John Talbot is "John Talbert age 69. Wife [Hannah] is "Mrs. Tabot" age 69. Son is "William Talbot".
Catherine (n. Talbot) Keys age 38 on 1861 Canada Census; age 50 on 1871 Canada Census; age 63 on 1891 Canada Census.
Robert Talbot birthdate 1829 on 1861 census; 1831 on 1871 census.
Edward Talbot birthdate est. birthyear 1836 on 1859 marriage registration; 1833 on 1881 census ath nd 1831 on 1891 census and 10 April 1834 on 1901 census. Death record says 10 April 1830 [son Robert is informant]. 1901 census says that he immigrated in 1835.
Thomas Talbot birthyear 1829 on 1881 census; birthdate 21 August 1830 on 1901 census.
John Talbot birth year 1832, place of birth Ireland. [A descendant used to say that his grandfather - this John - was born "on a British -Man-O-War". Could he have been born at sea? ]
William H Talbot born in Ontario 1840, immigrated to the USA in 1874. Age 36 0n 1880 US Census [birthyear 1844]. 1900 US Census says birthdate August 1837.
At least the non-Catholic part is consistent.
Thank you for your help!
