John Coyle

I am trying to find information on my Great Great Grandparents who were born in Ireland, I do not have much information except that they were born in Ireland, maybe in Mcbride county but not sure, around 1824 to 1837, John Coyle married Mary, not sure on her last name, any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Unfortunately, there is not much we can do with the info you have. There is not McBride County. John Coyle is a common name.

Since youn are in the USA, did you find thei couple on the 1880 census, 1900 census? Can you locate their death records for possible parents names?

Another alternative is to consider autosomal DNA testing?

Roger, thank you for responding, I do not have any information other than he was born in Ireland, on the headstone it reads McBride, co Cavan Ireland, I realize John Coyle is a common name, that is the reason why it is so hard for me to find out which one is connected to me, I know he also had a son named John who was born in Canada (which is my great grandfather), I have tried for years to find information but never could, but I do know he was born in Ireland, I have no information on his parents, I have looked on ancestry but cannot get the information because he is from Ireland. I will try to research more to see if I find anything.

There is a civl parish in Cavan called Knockbride. Possibly that is the connection. RC parish is also Knockbride and records start in 1835 http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0846   I did a quick check on Roots Ireland and no John Coyle records 1835-1840. Likely he was born before 1835.

You are welcome to get in touch with me, my tree's on Ancestry and My HEritage, happy to share what I have with in in the event that it is a help. //ACM
