James Roarty from Gweedore, co Donegal
thewendys2010
I am researching James and his family, wife was Margaret Sharkey.
They came to Australia in 1859 aboard the "Lady Elma Bruce" aided by the Donegal Relief Fund.
I am planning a trip there very soon, and would appreciate any help that can be given.
Many thanks.

Unfortunately, the RC church records for Gweedore (Tullaghobegly West) parish start after the Roarty family left Ireland. https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1024?locale=en Civil registration did not start until 1864.
The 1857 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Tullaghobegly civil parish shows three James Roarty records. One of the three could be your James Roarty..
