Hi Roger thanks for that, I have seen that census also ,it looks like twins in the census possibly I'm just not sure if that is him as I don't have much info? All I know is their buried somewhere by rosslaire. Do you know of a website to search death certificates maybe ?
Thanks you so much for taking the time though.

Hi James O'Neill was buried in Kilrane, rosslaire harbour approx. 1948/49 I think roughly same time as his wife Ellen O'Neill nee Quigley, which I would love to know what happened to them to die so close together.

Many Thanks

Also I cant seem to find anyone around age 15/16/17 in the 1911 census for James O'Neill so I don't know if they moved ? I'll ask my grandfather later to see if he knows anymore info

Gemma:

Is Kilrane, Rosslare Harbour in the same general area as Athy?

I can look up civil death index records and found a james O'Neill who died in 1949 but he was born in 1867 according to the informant. Is that the father of the 5 year old James in the census record?

No totally different area, he was in the army my grandfather said, so maybe thats why he moved from Athy and met Mary Ellen Quigley they lived in rosslare harbour from around 1930, and thats where they are buried?

Hi. my name is Brian O'Neill. If I'm correct. The James O'Neill you're researching was a twin to Gertrude, who was my Grandmother. They also had a brother Patrick (Paddy), who moved to Manchester in later years with his wife Annie and their family. I am still in contact with the family today. If you get this and and want some more up-to-date information please contact me. I believe that this information is relevent to your research and would love to get in contact with you.

Yours Sincerely

Brian O'Neill

Hi Brian, this is now years later I have picked back up on the family tree and seen your reply ! Apologises!!! Yes Gertrude is the twin.  Do you have any information on this family tree?

I have James O'Neill - Athy Kildare, Married Mary - not sure of maiden name.

Do you know if the family in question was involved in music?  My grandfather mentioned O'Neills and Big Band?

Thanks

Gemma

Hi Gemma

Yes the family was, and still is, involved with music. I have contacted Ireland Reaching Out admin about forwarding on my contact details to you. They said they had emailed this info to you already, so if you can locate it we can have better communication. Hopefully we can pick up the family threads.

Brian
