James Danahy and Ellen McSweeny
Seeking additional information about my 3x great-grandparents, James Danahy/Denahy (and perhaps myriad other spellings) (born abt. 1801) and Ellen McSweeny (born abt. 1811) from County Kerry. They left Ireland for Canada, probably in the mid-1830s, with two children, Mary (born abt. 1832) and Cathrine (born abt. 1833). It appears that their first child born in Canada was Ellen (born abt. 1840) in the Township of Nichol, County of Wellington in present-day Ontario. Six children followed: Margaret (born abt. 1842), Hanora (born abt. 1843), Johannah (born abt. 1844), James (born abt. 1845), Ann (born abt. 1847), and Patrick (born abt. 1848). James Danahy was a farmer and a Roman Catholic. Any insight as to where in Kerry they came from would be appreciated.
