ISO info for my GG Grandfather Ed Finnerty

I am trying to find information on my GG Grandfather Edward Finnerty. DOB around Feb 1819, immigrated to USA in 1850. The one immigration record I have found says his last residence was Sligo but I don’t know for sure if that is where he is from. My oldest brother recently did a Y DNA test and a match did also have a relative from Sligo so it is very possible that is where he was originally from. Parents names are not known but some info may suggest mother’s maiden name was Dougherty. Married Bridget Margaret Walsh in Ohio, USA in 1853. The marriage certificate has his last name spelled Feenaughty but that is the only record with that spelling. Bridget immigrated from Ireland around 1847 to USA. She was supposedly originally from County Cork. They had the following children: Timothy, Mary, Ellen (Ella), James, Anna Catherine, Thomas, Jane Cecilia, Elizabeth, Margaret, Edward, Bridget and Grace (named in birth order).

If anyone can help me with any info to help my search I would really appreciate it.

LS Finnerty:

Finding RC church records in Co. Sligo back to 1819 is difficult. Only 4 of the 27 Sligo RC parishes have records back to 1819 and earlier.

I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland for all of Ireland and did located a few Edward Finnerty baptismal records around 1819- Kildare 1818 Longford 1820. My guess  is that his father was Timothy since he was Edward's oldest son. There were no Edward Finnerty baptismal records with father Timothy.

There are a number of variations of the spelling for Finnerty. This is the emigration record which appears to match your information. The ship Aberdeen.

Thank you Roger and Eileen. I appreciate the assistance. Yes Eileen this is the same immigration record that I have which I believe is my GG grandfather. Thank you for sending it to me.
