Howlin family of County Wexford

My 96-year-old father's sister has DNA matches to:

Descendants of John Howlin (1798-1858), spouse Mary Finn (1807-1847), lived in Ballykeeroge, FamilySearch: John Howlin (1798–1858) • Person • Family Tree

and

Descendants of James Howlin (1813-1889), spouse Margaret Doyle (1822-1906), lived in Ballykeerogemore, FamilySearch: James Howlin (1813–1889) • Person • Family Tree

These two branches obviously link, but how?

Are there any 1800s or early 1900s genealogies of the Howlin clan in Wexford archives? Thankfully, the Howlin clan was not prolific.

Another DNA match is with Mary Howlin, who married John Colfer in 1855. She appears to be a daughter of Edward Howlin & Catherine Butler. Mary Howlin on FamilySearch: Mary Howlin (1833–Deceased) • Person • Family Tree

From 1701 to 1913, rootsIreIand.ie has baptisms/births for nearIy 240 HowIins in Wexford.  I think it wouId not be possibIe to connect your father to the proper famiIy without researching him, his parents, their parents, etc., untiI a connection can be made with earIier generations.

Patricia, my message says nothing about my father, but for your interest, this is my paternal 2nd great-grandfather: Thomas Holden (–1869) • Person • Family Tree

I don't expect anyone to be able to link him to the Howlins, certainly not without extending those two trees above back a generation or two.
