Hello,

I have a connection to Anthony Holt (1792-1852) who married Mary Grattan (1797-1895) and immigrated to Ontario Canada. Anthony's father, George Holt (1759-1824) was the son of John Holt (1720-1804). My family tree book was last updated in 1995, but it states that they all hailed from Coolavacoose, Carbury, County Kildare.  I am searching for information of the Holt family in Ireland, as well as information about Mary Grattan (and her ancestors), before they immigrated to Canada.

My name is Brian and my Grandmother was Mary Holt Schutte (1900-2000), grandaughter of Thomas Holt (1819-1902).  I'm also Canadian, living in Ottawa.  I just found my copy of the Holt Family Tree (1995) you mentioned above, did a search on Coolavacoose and found your posts.  Just wanted to say Hi to you both.

Hi there fellow Holt lineage seekers. I too am a Holt searching for information linked to my 5th great grandfather John William Holt from Carbury Kildare. I am currently a member of ancestry dot com and have found so much misinformation on there I have decided to get to the root of finding the correct information about our family tree. I have contacted each of you on this board that has left a contact email and would love to compare notes. I have also used AI to piece together some facts. The problem I'm finding is there is so many Johns and Williams in this branch of the tree, they blur at times. If anyone wants to help put all our puzzle pieces together, perhaps we can accurately create our tree. I'm also a Canadian, Niagara region in Ontario and most seem to be on this board.
