Ihave Irish relatives in Claretuam Galway where my grandfather, Owen Higgins, was born in 1871. We visited the Family of John Higgins about 20 years ago. They were so very gracious to us and we especially values the prep work done by Margaret Higgins, Johns wife. Una Higgins McGrath, johns sister lived next door to John and Johns brother, Eugene lived down the street. Does anyone have connections with this family?

Hello Rosemary
My name is Clare Horgan I am a volunteer for the Claregalway area in Co. Galway.
Apologies for not following up with you sooner. I was able to do a little research. Hope some of it is helpful to you in your search.
See the link below to townlands.ie, which is very helpful to find out information on all townlands in Ireland. Below find the townland with where Owen Higgins and his family lived
1871: https://www.townlands.ie/galway/clare/belclare/claretuam/pollaturk/ ; (Pollaturk is also known as Churchfriar, found on the civil birth record attached)
1901 https://www.townlands.ie/galway/clare/belclare/claretuam/polldarragh/
I found Owen Higgins with his family in the 1901 census

I researched family members still alive in the 1911 census.
