Henry Bagot, Ballymoe area, Co. Galway and his wife Catherine
I am interested in information on Henry Bagot (about 1810-1867) and his wife Catherine (about 1810-1862). In July 1836, Henry co-signed a loan, and was listed as living in Treanboy townland, Kilcroan, Co. Galway. They had several sons (the oldest Martin born 1831 and the youngest Thomas born 1844) before the family immigrated to Islington, London, about 1848-1849, where all worked in construction as bricklayers and plasterers. In the later English censuses, Ballymoe is listed as their birthplace. Also later on in England, son Martin married a Julia Bagot, daughter of John Bagot, who also was born in Co. Galway. Given the impoverishment of Henry and Catherine's family, I assume they are not related to John Lloyd Bagot or his son Thomas Neville Bagot, owners of Drumatemple and Kilcroan near Ballymoe at that time.
Thanks for any information!
Celeste
