Leighann:
I'm sorry but I don't think we will be able to assist you with your query. Have you contacted the cemetery?
Roger McDonnell
Leighann, I think your options are to contact the Coombe hospital and ask if they can tell you the details on record or as Roger suggested to contact Glasnevin cemeteries as they will hold a record for all infants interred from the Coombe hospital. Speaking from experience, depending on the circumstances of the babys birth, the parents are offered a choice whether to take the infant/remains or allow the hospital to bury the baby in the angels plot in Glasnevin. As this baby was actually named and you have the date of birth then the records should show this. The babies are usually collected from the hospital some days after the birth and are buried together in the angels plot.( In our case ) eight babies are buried together in a single grave with the babies name and birth date recorded on a headstone, if it is any consolation, it is very respectful and the staff at the cemetery maintain the graves well. I am so sorry for the loss of this child, stillborn is still born and carried in silent grief for a lifetime.
