HEALY family

My Great Grandfather Michael HEALY born about 1844/6 in Doora, Co. Clare, a labourer emmigrated at age 20 for Port Adelaide, South Australia, Australia in about 1866. His father's name John HEALY recorded on his marriage certificate in South Australia. No mother's name...also his sister Anne HEALY arrived in the 1860's on different ships. Both Michael and Anne could not signtheir names on each of their marriage certificates. Just used a mark (X). They were Roman Catholics. Michaelmarried a Mary McCUE in Adelaide, South Australia. She was born here and her parentswerePatrick McCue and Anne Ward, both born in Ireland. It would make searching a lot easier if I could find John HEALY's wifes name. (Michael's Mother). I have been researching my family for a lot of years in Australia but now wouldlike to progress to Ireland to find beginnings.

The name of where he was born in Ireland was written as Durah, Co. Clare and I found that the place named Doora was on an old map. His details were on his death certificate in Adelaide. South Australia.

Any information giving where to start with John HEALY's marriage might be found or any other children would be very much appreciated.

Michael Healy's family were definitely Roman Catholic. I have been fishing for years to find his birth also the name of his mother. I only have his father's name as John. Just recently have found a church called St. Brecans in Doora, Co. Clare. Are there any records that I may be able to look up as his father, John, would have been been born in about 1820's.

I realise that this Church became a ruin in about the 1840's.  any suggestions ould be very much appreciated. Pat Elliott (nee HEALY)

It's been a year since I posted a query about my HEALY family from Doora, Co. Clare. I have not any replies as yet and I'm getting older each year. Maybe I was never meant to find anything about my Great Grandfather, Michael Healy or his father John HEALY. Michael had a sister Anne who also came to South Australia and I have been searching many records and now have got so much paper work I cannot sort it out to make sense of it. Also I am in my eighties and was hoping to have a breakthrough by now. Oh! Well, that's the way it goes. Feeling frustrated. ...with all good intentions,
