Hadican/Haddican family in Becan/Bekan Co Mayo

Just returned from a trip to my local records office. I decided to check the number of Irish Immigrants who lived in the small town of Wirksworth in Derbyshire in the 1851 census. The information on the 1841 census doesn't include birth place so I'll need to check by surname.

I found the Hadican/Haddican family but only men folk living in an area with quite a few Irish migrants. (Hadican is sometimes DD)

James Hadican (on Ancestry they've changed it to Madican!) Age 50 born in 1801. I'm assuming that James is the father.

James born in 1838 age 17

John born in 1838 age 13. I have found potentially John was born in Becan/Bekan on the 7th Jul 1836. Mother Mary Grogan?

Michael born 1840

Thomas born 1842

I'm trying to connect this group to Edward Haddican born 1799 in Bekan. He arrived in Bradford sometime around 1851 and then moved to Wirksworth. Edward is still in Bekan township in 1845 as his son in born 18 Aug 1845

Thank you for the information Roger. I dis subscribe to Roots and found the following:

I have baptism details from Edward and Mary Byrne with Edmond Haddican in 1835. Sponsors are Thomas and Mary Muldean.  On a Bradford Census (the first recording of the Haddicans in England) I can only find Edward Junior born around 1836 so it could be him.

Then Ellen Haddican, same parents, baptised in 1845 (1844 on the Bradford census) with Michael Mulloney and Bridgit Flynn as sponsors.

Bridget Haddican (who married my great great grandfather James Gleeson in England) with same parents, 1833 baptised (1834 on the Bradford Census) with Mathias Groghan (spelling mistake?) and Mary Groghan (I'm a Catholic Sponsor for my niece and if I remember they don't have husband and wife sponsors) as Sponsors. Mary Groghan could be Mary Grogan married to James Haddican.

Catherine Haddican with same parents, born 1841, (she lives in the next house on the Bradford census not with the family???) Sponsors are Austin Grogan and Mary Finn who could be Flynn.

I don't have any records for P Haddican? Maybe the child died?

Austin Grogan appears a number of times in research.

P. Haddican may have died. Bekan parish did no retain death records and civil registration of deaths started in 1864.
