Hi Deirdre . . .
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out . . and from the town of Roscrea . . .
Those dates are very far back . . but . . when I searched Roots (paid) . . I hit lucky first time . .
I found Patrick . . spelled "Ginane" . . (see below) . . .
Unfortunately . . .Church records for Roscrea R.C. parish . . only . . begin in 1810 . . so that rules out James

John Guinan . . I found in 1824 - Roscrea. and again in Roscrea . . John Guinan b. 1827.
There is a TAX roll . . known as " Tithes Applotment " 1823 - 1837 . . where I found a number of Guinan's residing in Roscrea in 1823

I hope that info. is helpful to you . . also . . I had a look at a Roscrea Phone Book . . and there is just one listing . .
a Seamus Guinan . . add. Sharavogue, Birr ( Ph. 383 505 47325 )
Good Luck with your search . . .

I also had a look at the National Census of 1901 and 1911
see below for 1901
NO listing for 1911.
