Graham and Clubine of Co. Laois

I descend from Archibald Graham, who emigrated to Victoria, Australia in 1840. By his own statement. he was born in Co. Laois c1819, son of George and Mary Graham, although there survive no record of his baptism, or of the marriage of George and Mary. George's army record indicates that he was born in Offerlane, Laois in 1799. I found the baptism of Archibald's sister Mary Graham at Mountmellick, Laois in 1825, daughter of George Graham and Mary CLUBINE. I'm enquiring about the name Clubine: is it

  1. A surname in its own right, apparently very rare in Ireland;
  2. A variant of CLIBBORN, which does occur in Laois in the 18th & 19th centuries. I believe that this name was brought to Ireland by a soldier in Cromwell's army.
  3. A variant of the Irish name Cluvain (I don't know the correct Irish spelling).

Any information welcome!
