i would like to find some information for my mum. Her dads name was patrick Glynn (born roscommon) his father was thomas glynn and mother anne (maiden name birmingham). We believe they owned a farm. Not sure on what town/parish they were from but would love to know more. He had brothers michael, vincent and james and sister nancy and delia. Thank you.

Claire,

Attached is Patrick's civil birth record. He was from the town land of Culkeen, RC parish Kiltulla, Roscommon. On the website, irishgenealogy.ie, I also found the births for these siblings:

Thomas Glynn 8 May 1915

Mary Ellen Glynn 12 Nov 1918

James Joseph Glynn 6 May 1920

Michael Peter 17 Jun 1922

Annie (synonymous with Nancy) 23 May 1924

I could not locate the birth records for the other two siblings you mentioned. Delia is another name for Bridget. I looked for Thomas and Anne's civil marriage record, but came up empty handed.

In the 1911 census for Culkeen, there is a John Glynn, head of household, widower, age 68 living with his son Thomas, age 35, single, daughter Bridget 21, and daughter Margaret, 19.

I then found Thomas' civil birth record from 1874 showing his mother was Mary Godfrey. It is attached as well. I looked at the paid site Roots Ireland to view his church baptism record to find that the two baptism sponsors were interestingly Enda Bermingham and Mary Bermingham.

Regards,

Carolyn
