I found a couple of records relating to this family but nothing specific on Richard - he is mentioned on the baptisms of the three children in Donabate (aka Donabate & Portraine) Catholic parish in 1833, 1836 and 1839, but found no sign of a marriage to Anne Ward or any sign of Richard on the Tithe records or Primary Valuation. Anne's death in 1887 notes her as "widow of a labourer" and reported age of 95, so Richard died before this but did not find a likely death for him in the area - maybe he died before the start of civil records in 1864 ?
The informant on Anne's death is a Kate Smart granddaughter of the deceased using her mark, and there's a good match for her (as Catherine) in Rush on the 1901 census - including a son named Richard. There are a number of children baptised to a Thomas Smart and Mary Anne Gamble in the baptism records for Donabate including John 1865, Jane 1869 and Patrick in 1871.
