Ford relatives in Boyle, Roscommon.

Hello,

We are making a trip over to Boyle and Roscommon and staying in Boyle for a couple of days from 5th September and have been researching our relatives on the Ford side of the family..

My Great/Great/ Great Grandad was James Ford born in Boyle in 1829 to Eugene and Catherine Nara ..James died in 1893 in Birmingham, England ( which was in Warwickshire 1893) he was married to Catherine Bates also from area.

It would be great to know if there any Fords relatives still in the Boyle or Roscommon area .

Thanks for the Birth record for James Ford- I'm having a hard time deciphering it - is it an address ?

From what I can make out it reads

22 (22nd of month) Ja (James) John Ford ( next word is not legible) and Cath a ( Catherine) Nara. Sp (Sponsors/Godparents) I think the next word is Francis ( maybe Lawlor?) and Sarah Ford. Writing is atrocious but that is the document, each priest had their own shorthand and many priests could just about read and write themselves. The value in this entry is that it is the authentic entry in the register (for better or worse) written the day baby James was registered almost two hundred years ago.
