Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
McDermott was and is a very common surname in Co. Roscommon. There were 334 McDermott households in the 1901 census. None of the RC parishes in Co. Roscommon have records back to 1769 so a baptismal record would not exist. This Ireland XO insight from late February might be a path to learn more about your family origins in the county. https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/news/irelandxo-insight-how-dna-can-help-you-connect-ireland
