My great great Grandfather Eugene Riley was born in 1820 within the town of Coote Hill County Cavan. He left Ireland in 1833. It would be great to find out more about his story and others.

Did he have siblings? Names?

On another note, Eugene and Owen can be interchangeable. I have an ancestor, Owen, whose name in Latin in the baptism register was Eugenius. It was transcribed Eugene by an indexer. But he was always known as Owen.

Eugene Riley was born in 1820, Coote Hill. Died at the age of 86 on March 18,1906. He left Ireland in 1833. He married Honorah Hennessy of Sacramento, California. They had 9 children. Honorah was born in 1835 in Ireland. She died December 26, 1897 in California. I’m not aware that Eugene had other siblings but I suspect some..? Eugene was 13 when he left but I also suspect he took some people with him. I believe, during Eugene’s voyage there is a comment infant buried at sea..
