ellen keefe

Hello

I am researching my g.g.grandparents Ellen Keefe and Michael Burke.

I have been able to verify their location in the US.

Ellen was born, I believe, in Thomastown Kilkenney, Tullaherin Ossory Diocese in 1818, November.

Her parents were Patt Keefe and Margaret Kelly, married in January of 1818.

I am trying to find anything else that will confirm this for me.

Ellen married Michael Burke in St. Louis, Mo. in 1856.

I have been unable to find anything for Michael. I believe that Michael was

born in 1801. His parents

were Lawrence Burke and Jullia Obrien, listed on their marriage record with that spelling.

If there is anything recommended that would assist my search, I appreciate it greatly.

The paid site, Roots Ireland, does verify the information you have for Ellen Keefe and her parents. Here is the information:

Ellen Keefe, DOBaptism - 1 Dec 1818, residence - Mill Street, RC parish of Thomastown, Kilkenny, parents - Patrick Keefe & Margaret Kelly, sponsors - Richard Back & Margaret Leary.

Marriage of Patrick Keefe & Margaret Kelly, 26 Jan 1818, Thomastown parish, Kilkenny, witnesses - Richard Keefe & Mary Henesy

Regarding Michael Burke, I searched all of Ireland for him with those parents on Roots Ireland, but found nothing. He might be from an area in Ireland that does not have records back to 1801.

Do you know his date of death? Sometimes certain death records give the parents' names...although you already have them. So, he was 55 years old when he married? That seems pretty old to me.
