Edmond Daly from Aherlow, Tipperary.

Hi, I’m new to this :) I’ve been doing some research into my ancestry. Mums father is Kevin Kennedy Daly, born in Brisbane, Australia. I think his grandfather was Edmond Daly who migrated from Aherlow, Tipperary mid-1800. Any further information on his parents ancestry would be great. I’ll attach the tree I have created so far. Any confirmation or missing detail on his parents would be good. I’m planning a trip to Ireland next year in September. I will be going to Limerick and Tipperary and hopefully visit Aherlow. Any help with the tree appreciated (colours: Rose=Born Ireland, Purple=Australian, Blue=English)….Darren

The subscription site FindMyPast.ie has a September 26 1841 baptism in Galbally/Aherlow RC church for an Edmond Daly with father Michael and mother Mary Brien.There are records for siblings also. John 1839 Margaret 1846 Peter 1855. There were also children born in 1843 and 1845 but no name transcribed. In 1855, the family lived in Moneynaboola townland in Clonbeg civil parish.

Darren:

I looked at the Galbally parish register. The children's names on the 1843 and 1845 registers are difficult to interpret. Best guess Mary in 1843 and Anne in 1845.

See fifth record. Michael Daly died in late 1885  https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/files/civil/deaths_returns/deaths_1886/06259/4792670.pdf

See fifth record. Mary Daly died 1889. Daughter Catherine Gorman was informant.  https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/files/civil/deaths_returns/deaths_1889/06151/4757302.pdf

Catherine Daly married William Gorman in 1867.
