Thank you for replying! I ran across those links, too, but the list does not appear among them somehow... Two of the links that seem to be dead-on for what I need, are broken!!! So disappointing! I have one other idea, but after that, I am as stumped as before I found the story about the Ballybay group!
A link on the RootsChat thread is for the Irish Genealogical Research Society https://www.irishancestors.ie
A contributor to the RootsChat thread is in possession of one or more lists. I understand, from a quick reading of the posts, that 1 list was obtained from the church at Salem. Loralee, if you haven't already done so, I suggest that you join RootsChat. It's free and almost all contributors are volunteers. Once you have made a few posts the personal message system will be accessible. Then you can ask the person who has the list(s) for more information and exchange email addresses if necessary via Personal Message .
Thank you, Maggie! I have joined, but find the message system very confusing! I think I've written to that person privately, but I'm not sure. (And the admin wouldn't allow me to post my e-mail address, so I can't seem to connect properly with him!
Miriam, Thank you for that suggestion! I have now written to the church asking for info. Here's crossing my fingers that they might have a list of the original people!
RootsChat doesn't allow email adresses on the public forum. It's for the security of contributors. You have to make 3 posts before you can use the Personal Message system. That's to prevent spamming. It works very well as long as the person you want to contact is still receiving alerts and hasn't changed their email address. There's a Help page with instructions. If you have difficulty, post another message on the thread on the Forum and someone will reply with advice. If necessary a board moderator will chip in.
Thank you, Maggie May! You've been so kind and helpful!
