Dr. George Lemons & Family

Dr. George Lemons & his wife Nancy Jeffreys lived in Keady, County Armagh. As far as I know all of their 9 children migrated, 8 of them to Arkansas in the United States in the 1840's. Nancy died about 1844. Dr. George Lemons migrated in about 1845 with the last of the younger children, but he died on the ship on the way to America. I would like to know more about the Lemons family in County Armagh & can share information on the children & their families that came to America.

The only Lemon in Keady in Griffith's Valuation (completed 1864 for Armagh) is

Griffith Lemon John Aughnagurgan Keady Co. Armagh

It is possible he was related to George.

In the Flax Growers List (1796) there were the following Lemmons in Keady:

  1. Lemmon Wm. Keady Armagh
  2. Lemmon Robert Keady Armagh
  3. Lemmon George Keady Armagh

I searched marriages and baptisms at RootsIreland for George and family, but there were no findings.

I hope this is helpful.
