You don't indicate where Daniel was living in 1901 and 1911 and there are too many Daniel Murphy records in Cork. Can you share the 1901 census record. If he possibly taught at Innishannon school, this web site provides an email address to contact for information. https://www.innishannonschool.com//about/school-history/

There's a likely match for your Daniel in the March 1905 list of National School Teachers (NAI) as follows :
Name : Daniel Murphy, age 60
length of Service : 41 yrs, 5 month
Currently Serving School : Riverstown Boys, Co. Cork, Roll No. 13747
Position : Principle
Another School is mentioned as 'place of Education' : Goggin's Hill, Ballinhassig, Waterfall
[no information on training college]
This is probably him with his family on the 1901 Census at Rearour townland Co. Cork
Both wife Ellen and eldest son are also teachers - Ellen probably at Kilbonane as an assistant.
Thank you both for your help,
Roger,
He appears on the 1901 census and he was dead by the 1911 Census they both list Rearour as town and Kilbonane as District.
