--I had a look at some records on Ancestry--censuses and Daniel's passenger ship record. The dates given for his birth on these are 1848 (3 times), 1850 (once), and 1852 (twice).
--Do you have a document showing the names of Daniel's parents? Parents' names on death records are sometimes incorrect. The person giving the info for the death certificate could be mistaken, confused, grieving, etc. My own g-grandfather's name was given as William on his daughter's death record, but his name was actually Daniel. And I've seen a death record where the deceased stepmother's name was given instead of his mother's. Mentioning this in case the only place Daniel's parents' names appear is his death record.
--I saw on a tree on Ancestry that at least one of Daniel's daughters was a nun. You may have already researched her, but if not, you might want to. Religious orders keep extensive records and the daughter's record probably has info about Daniel.
--I hope something here is helpful!
